Life in our flat

Three of us, all somewhere in research, all quietly competitive about coffee.

Mahdi (38) is doing his PhD and is in Zurich for a six-month visit at ETH from Bologna. Speaks five languages, cooks properly, out cycling or hiking whenever the weather allows.
Giulia (24) works as a research assistant. Gym in the morning, concerts and long city walks at the weekend, and the one who always knows where to travel next.
Matteo (25) is also a research assistant, grew up between Italy, France and Ticino. Chess, board games and strong opinions about pasta.

It is a calm flat. Weekdays are work, gym, dinner and a chat at the kitchen table. We meet friends out in town rather than filling the flat with people, so evenings here stay quiet. Weekends are for a proper breakfast, a hike, or a long lunch somewhere.

English is the everyday language, though Italian comes out the second food is involved.

You are working or studying, comfortable in a quiet home, and looking for somewhere to settle rather than a place to crash.

One honest warning: this flat is tidy. Dishes get done the same evening, the kitchen gets wiped, the bathroom stays presentable. If that sounds like a lot, we are probably not your flat. If it sounds like a relief, keep reading.

The rest is relaxed. We would like a flatmate, not a stranger: a hello in the kitchen, dinner together now and then, a heads-up when you have guests over. Join a board game evening if you feel like it, skip it without explaining yourself.

Bonus points if you play chess badly enough to give us hope, know a hiking route we have not done yet, or bring a recipe from home.
